"Combining aspects of the economic, social and environmental fields, the concept of sustainable development means meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs".
Aware
of its responsibilities to both current and future generations, the i2S group
has placed sustainable development at the heart of its corporate management
strategy.
By making sustainable development a priority, the i2S group is committing itself on several fronts:
Starting from the design stage of our products, the aim of eco-design is to identify and reduce the impact of our activity on the natural environment. It is performed in partnership with our suppliers and sub-contractors at every stage of product development.
This is guided by making appropriate choices in our design, test and manufacturing equipment.
The European RoHS directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, a category that includes most of the products we manufacture. Compliance with this standard means restricting the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE. This directive became effective on July 1, 2006.
To comply with the standard, we have redesigned old products, integrated
components that respect this directive and adapted our production methods.
Application of the ROHS directive has allowed us to remove all dangerous
substances from our production.
Application of the European WEEE directive has resulted in the creation of an
awareness and information campaign for all of employees of the i2S group
concerning waste recycling.
One of the first actions carried out in this connection was the
organization of a selective sorting by all of the company's employees.
Thanks to elimination at source of all dangerous substances and to the
use of the recycling network, i2S has set up and optimized a system for the
reduction, dismantling and recovery of our waste.
